Why This Bible

Every major English Bible translation was produced by a committee — funded by a denomination, edited by consensus, and ordered by tradition. What was removed? What was softened? What was rearranged to fit a theology instead of following the manuscript?

The King James Version was commissioned by a king who demanded no marginal notes challenge the authority of bishops. The New International Version is owned by a corporation (Zondervan, a subsidiary of HarperCollins) and has been revised by committee vote. The English Standard Version rearranged passages to align with Reformed theology. Every translation carries the fingerprints of the institution that paid for it.

A Faithful Version carries the fingerprints of one man — Fred R. Coulter — who spent over 50 years translating directly from the earliest Greek and Hebrew manuscripts, restoring the original God-inspired book order, and writing 280+ pages of commentary and appendices that no committee would approve because no denomination funds the conclusions.

This is not a revision. This is not a paraphrase. This is a restoration.

What Makes It Different

Original Manuscript Order Restored

The 66 books of the Bible were not written in the order found in the King James Version. The KJV order was inherited from the Latin Vulgate — a 4th century Catholic arrangement. A Faithful Version restores the original Hebrew and Greek manuscript order, placing the General Epistles (James, Peter, John, Jude) before Paul’s letters — as they were originally canonized.

One Translator, Not a Committee

Committees produce consensus. Consensus produces compromise. Compromise produces a Bible that offends no denomination and satisfies none. Fred Coulter translated every word himself — accountable to the manuscripts, not to a publisher, a denomination, or a board of directors.

280+ Pages of Commentary and Appendices

26 appendices (A through Z) covering: Fourteen Rules for Bible Study, how the Old and New Testaments were canonized, proof the New Testament was originally written in Greek, when Jesus was actually born, how Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets, the difference between the Old and New Covenants, the three days and three nights of Jesus’ entombment, and the definitive treatment of Paul’s difficult scriptures.

Seven Chronologies

From Moses to Solomon. From the Crucifixion to the destruction of Jerusalem. The true chronology of Noah’s Flood day by day. Biblical history mapped against secular history with precision no other single-volume Bible provides.

God’s Holy Days — Not Pagan Holidays

A Faithful Version preserves and teaches the biblical feasts — Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles, the Last Great Day — as they were observed by Jesus, the apostles, and the first-century church. The commentary exposes how pagan holidays replaced God’s commanded observances and why it matters.

The Indictment

Ask yourself one question: who paid for your Bible?

If a corporation owns the copyright, the corporation decides what the text says. The New International Version (NIV) is owned by Biblica and published exclusively by Zondervan, a subsidiary of HarperCollins — the same publisher that prints The Satanic Bible. Every revision is approved by committee vote. Every committee member serves at the pleasure of the funding institution. The Word of God, edited by show of hands.

The King James Version was commissioned in 1604 by King James I of England — a political act, not a spiritual one. The king issued 15 rules to the 47 translators. Rule #1: the Bishops’ Bible was the base text. Rule #3: no marginal notes that could challenge the authority of the Church of England. The translation was accurate where the king permitted accuracy. Where political power intersected with Scripture, political power won.

The English Standard Version (ESV) was produced by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. The translation committee was selected from Reformed theological circles. The text reflects Reformed doctrine where ambiguity existed in the Greek. This is not conspiracy. This is how institutions work. The funder picks the team. The team produces the text the funder finds acceptable.

Fred Coulter answered to no funder. No denomination. No committee. No publisher. No king. He answered to the manuscripts — and to God. That is the difference between a Faithful Version and every other Bible on your shelf.

What They Changed

The order of the books is not a minor detail. It is the architecture of divine revelation.

God inspired 22 books of the Old Testament — one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Jerome, translating the Latin Vulgate in the 4th century, split these 22 books into 39 and rearranged them to match the Greek Septuagint order — an order devised by Hellenistic scholars in Alexandria, Egypt, not by the Aaronic priesthood who were the divinely appointed custodians of Scripture.

In the New Testament, the General Epistles (James, I and II Peter, I, II, and III John, Jude) were written and canonized BEFORE Paul’s letters. Every ancient Greek manuscript places them first. Yet every modern English Bible places Paul’s letters first — because the Catholic and Protestant traditions preferred Paul’s theology of grace over James’s theology of works. The arrangement is not neutral. It is editorial.

A Faithful Version restores what was moved. Corrects what was softened. Reveals what was hidden. One translator. One lifetime. One purpose: Your Word is the Truth — John 17:17.

Fred R. Coulter

Translator • Minister • Author • Publisher

Fred R. Coulter holds degrees in theology and biblical studies, including a Master’s degree in Theology from Ambassador University (1964). Ordained in 1965, he has spent over 50 years studying Koine Greek and Hebrew, translating directly from the earliest manuscripts, and teaching the Scriptures as they were originally written and ordered.

In 1983, after doctrinal changes in the Worldwide Church of God compromised the teachings he had dedicated his life to preserving, Coulter established the Christian Biblical Church of God (CBCG) — a Sabbath-keeping fellowship emphasizing scriptural accuracy, in-depth Bible study, and adherence to God’s laws, Sabbath, and Holy Days as observed by Jesus, the apostles, and the first-century church.

His published works include:

The Holy Bible In Its Original Order — A Faithful Version (1,432 pages)
A Harmony of the Gospels in Modern English (3rd edition)
The Christian Passover (500+ pages)
The Day Jesus the Christ Died
The Seven General Epistles
Occult Holidays or God’s Holy Days — Which?
God’s Plan for Mankind Revealed by His Sabbath and Holy Days (598 pages)

Fred Coulter has commissioned and possesses hand-painted portraits of the Second Temple as it stood in Jerusalem — one displayed in a governor’s home, one in his office in Israel. A man who does not merely study the Word. He lives inside it.
